Hi everyone! As an introvert I don't share much of myself, but here I go…

I'm Jenny, the creator of Pine Shanty. I often wonder how I got so lucky to build a business from my love of crystals. I wake each day with such gratitude that I am fortunate enough to have turned what was once just a hobby into a thriving and rewarding business. Making jewelry with every color of the rainbow is extremely therapeutic and I never consider it *work*. 

I have been collecting rocks since I was old enough to walk. At first my collection consisted of rocks gathered around my parents' property. My parents would even bring me home a rock from their travels as a souvenir. As I got older I started collecting minerals purchased from a metaphysical store. That is when I began to realize the true power a simple stone produced. My favorite stone is Amethyst, the vibrations of Amethyst are so tranquil. Not to mention, I like all things purple.

Many have asked where the Pine Shanty name comes from? Actually, Pine Shanty is the hobby farm my husband and I built with our children. We live in the Pine Barrens of South Jersey where it’s a challenge to live off the land, but we try our best to. Our garden is bigger than our house (our shanty).

I am passionate about the outdoors and nature, especially breathing in salt air. You can often find me searching for shells at the beach. By formal training I am a Marine Biologist and I come from a long line of sailors. Salt water is literally in my blood. I left the real world of work when my son was born and never looked back.
